ScottishBallet

group of dancers on stage

Scottish Ballet is Scotland’s National Dance Company, employing 36 international dancers, 35 support staff and a part time freelance orchestra of 70 musicians. The Company produces a wide range of classically based work including full length narrative ballets like The Nutcracker and Cinderella, seminal works by the best choreographers of the 20th Century and new commissions.

Since its re-launch three years ago, as a modern classical dance company, Scottish Ballet has gone from strength to strength and gained an excellent reputation putting it firmly back on a world class stage. In 2006, Scottish Ballet’s achievements were recognised at a national level when the Scottish Government committed to increasing the Company’s core funding from April 2007, allowing the Company to tour more extensively. The end of 2008 will see the Company move into its much-needed new headquarters at Tramway on Glasgow’s Southside.

Scottish Ballet performances bring together award winning choreography, national and international dancers, live orchestral music and wonderful designs. These performances are combined with an extensive education programme to increase access to the company’s activities and inspire the next generation.

To maintain this level of activity we need your help. In return we can provide you with opportunities to get closer to the work of the Company with tickets for performances, meet the dancers, Artistic Team and have a look behind the scenes, as well high profile branding and hospitality benefits.
